Hello Kitty turns 50 this year, can you believe it?! I was surprised to see that Loungefly came out with a pretty awesome collection of super cute merch for her anniversary.
Of course we have our usual backpacks, wallets, and bags. The Coin Bag Metallic Mini Backpack is my favorite. It actually pays tribute to the first Hello Kitty item Sanrio ever made: a coin purse.
For apparel there’s a souvenir jacket, all-over print tee, and this color block hoodie with lots of fun details like an extra-large lanyard-style drawcord with puff bow-shaped ends, foil-printing, and a lined jersey hood. All apparel is unisex and comes in sizes S-3XL.
We’ve even got a few stationery items, including this metallic lunchbox journal that comes with its own thermos (in the form of sticky notes!).
There’s a limited edition 3” collector pin as well, in the shape of a coin purse which is hinged and magnetic so you can separate the “clasps” to reveal a new scene inside.
I think one of the simplest items is the cutest – the lanyard with card holder. I like the blue of the lanyard and the debossing on the card holder, all together with a little apple charm.
As a final embellishment there’s a cute silicone keychain with Hello Kitty in a yellow airplane or blind box mini backpack keychains which even have a tiny a zipped compartment.
