If there’s one thing I’m great at it’s sleeping, so I was intrigued to hear about the new Pokemon Sleep mobile game. It’s essentially a sleep tracking app but with some extra motivation and rewards involving Pokemon.
Despite the promo video, it will sadly not mean you wake up with a bunch of Pokemon dozing next to you. It does help encourage a healthy sleep schedule and you’ll collect different Pokemon along the way and be able to interact with them, as well as helping with research about Snorlax, the famously sleepy Pokemon.
I gave it a try over the weekend and found it quite charming. It has a lovely soft art style and the sleepy Pokemon are all adorable. The tutorials feel endless so make sure to get through the first batch well before bedtime! Ironically, playing the game actually made me sleep worse than usual after the first night as I had to remember to set up the app, click through a load of screens and place my phone on my bed, which disrupted my usual bedtime routine. I won’t be sticking with it myself but it could be worth a try if you’re a Pokemon fan who needs some help getting more or better sleep. Pokemon Sleep is free to download for both Apple & Android devices.
You can also pick up some sleepy Pokemon outside your phone. There’s 4 new plushies of Pikachu, Slowpoke, Chikorita and Cubone, plus stickers with even more of the gang, a Snorlax sleep mask and more. Everything is available at Japan Stuffs (JP).
Or nap at home on a Snorlax beanbag (US only)! Sadly you’ll need a spare $200 but think about all the great naps you’ll have.
You can even wind down in a pair of Snorlax pyjamas via this cute collab with Korean brand SPAO, available through Harumio (KR), along with other Pokemon.
