Cute Drawing Tutorials On Instagram

Posted on June 18, 2021 by

If you’re learning to draw, or trying to get the hang of digital art, drawing tutorials can be really helpful. We all learn in different ways and our Art & Drawing category has posts with books and Youtube channels. I personally like to watch people draw/paint in real time and I also love quick tips. Here’s 5 cute artists on Instagram who generously share their knowledge.

Procreate is the top choice of most digital artists but it has so many features hidden away that you might never find. @olguioo has some great little roundups that are sure to blow your mind a few times! Olga also has some step by step drawing tutorials – find them all in the #olguiootutorials hashtag.

I love the art style of @ellievsbear and Ellie recently started sharing some incredibly helpful guides. There’s 3 so far with composition, choosing colours and painting backgrounds. If you’re keen to make more professional and detailed pieces, these will put you on the right path.

Backgrounds are something a lot of new artists really struggle with but this post from @ashiyaart can help you. Rather than telling you exactly what to do, the guide encourages you to think about what you want to portray and offers ideas on how to build a scene. Ashiya’s feed also has some quick tips on things like composition.

If you follow art and drawing accounts, you’ve probably come across @alicelovesdrawing, whose detailed floral videos are mesmerising to watch. Alice also shares breakdowns of how some of the pieces were planned, and what materials were used, which can provide guidance and inspiration for your own work.

There are lots of quick step by step drawing accounts that will show you how to draw individual animals and objects. @crafterofcute goes further and help you create scenes with multiple items, like a terrarium or snow globe. Their Etsy shop also has some very cute stamp brush sets.

Happy drawing!

I have lots of art books but that creating a background from imagination looks promising so I’ll check it out. Thanks!
