We’re a bit slow with Halloween this year but our favourite kawaii characters are all ready for spooky season! Here’s my favourite plush this year, along with a few other fun releases.
The Halloween Shop is open at Sanrio (US) and has a few plushies of Hello Kitty & Friends, plus clothing and decor. More exciting are the collabs – tokidoki (US) have a new collection of large and keychain plush mashing up their characters in spooky style. I also love Kidrobot’s (US) new Devilishly Cute plush of Mimmy, who doesn’t often get the spotlight. ARTBOX (UK) have a big Halloween range, including the Colour Pop Monster plush from a previous year and lots of exclusives from the ARTBOX Cafe.
The Pokemon Center (US/UK) has gone for a Sweet Mischief theme this year, which includes big plushies of Pikachu, Polteageist, Pawmi, Fueco, Crobat and Zoroark, along with some cool new knitwear and sleepwear. There’s a few things left from last year too.
I already shared this year’s Rilakkuma & Sumikko Gurashi Halloween plush, and San-X (JP – requires forwarding service) have sold out of the most popular ones. You can still order most of them from VeryGoods (JP) though.
The Pusheen Shop’s (US) exclusive Big Mochi Pumpkin Squisheen is so cute I had to include it, though sadly it has already sold out. There’s still a pin and jewellery in the Halloween Shop, plus Devil’s Food Cake Pusheen, pet goods and clothing. If you’re in the UK, ARTBOX have a spooky new Pusheen collection. The Fall Pusheen Boxes are also sold out – look out for our review soon.
Disney (UK/US/JP) almost have too much for Halloween so I’ll let you browse for your favourite characters. My pick is these Urupocha-chan mini plush from Japan, which you can order from Kawaii Republic or VeryGoods (both JP). I also really like the Pastel Ghosts homeware.
Build-A-Bear (global) always have a nice mix of plush in their Halloween collection, including their Sanrio collab. My favourites are Batty Kitty and the sparkly Kitsune Fox, but who can resist Silly Goose in a pumpkin outfit? You can also pick up spooky clothing and accessories for your new or existing huggable friends.
Jellycat have super fun – and silly!- new designs for Halloween (UK/US) and this year there’s a Vampop Drink, Glazespun Doughnut, candle, garlic and gargoyle, plus a few returning designs.
