It’s Pokemon Day on Saturday, and it’s an extra special one this year as it’s 25 years since the first Pokemon game was released! There’s been a lot of collaborations to celebrate so here’s a few cute ones that are available now.
My personal favourite is with illustrator Kino Takahashi and features their take on Galarian Meowth and friends in a sketchy cartoon style. The chubby plushies are too cute but there’s plenty stationery and lifestyle goods too. This collection is only in the Japanese Pokemon Center for now, so you’ll need to use a forwarding service or try resellers and Ebay.
Levi’s have a fun fashion collection (UK / USA) with denim and more, including Misty’s outfit. Click through to see some pretty incredible all over print denim, lots of t-shirts and even cute beanie hats with Pikachu & Jigglypuff ears.
It’s also the 25th anniversary of BABY-G watches so they’ve released a special Pikachu watch. It’s not cheap but has lots of clever features like hands shaped like Pikachu’s ears, and it even comes packaged in a Pokeball.
You might have seen these WHO ARE YOU? Pikachu plushies on social media and I love the idea. It arrives as a ball but if you give it a bath, it will unroll to reveal a fluffy Pikachu with one of 3 cute faces. The website has some shopping links in Japan and you’ll also find them on Ebay at reasonable prices.
US fans can find lots of new products at the Pokemon Center too. This Greatest Hits collection has a bit of a darker style that’s really cool in a rock band t-shirt way.
Which collab is your favourite?
