Kawaii Fairytale & Story Book Characters

Posted on October 23, 2020 by

I always seem to connect fairytales to autumn, probably because of all those mysterious forests and enchanted animals. It’s a while since we took a trip into story book land so here’s some kawaii fairytale characters to buy and DIY.

Kawaii fairytale Alice in Wonderland enamel pins

Nyanzilla (USA) has a very kawaii take on fairytales for enamel pins, stickers and more. I especially love the Alice in Kyoto Wonderland collection with Japanese versions of Alice, the Cheshire Cat, white rabbit and more.

Kawaii fairytale stickers

This super cute set of fairytale sticker flakes at StickersKingdom (Hong Kong) has a few different stories mixed together. There’s the 3 Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood and one that seems to involve bunnies with donuts!

Rilakkuma kawaii fairytale phone case

The recent Rilakkuma Fairy Tale collection is too adorable with the bears cosplaying as Cinderella, Snow White and more. Sadly most things sold out fast but if you’re an iPhone user there’s a new flip case for pre-order with sizes for iPhone 6 to X. Available exclusively from San-X (Japan – requires forwarding service).

Kawaii fairytale mushroom flasks

I’ve always loved Decole’s Red Riding Hood and Modes4u (HK) have these mushroom flasks that would be perfect for a woodland walk.

Kawaii fairytale cross stitch pattern

If you’re looking for a new craft project, how about this Story Time sampler pattern for cross stitch by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery? There’s 12 classic tales included – can you recognise them all?

Kawaii fairytale red riding hood cross stitch pattern

Or for something quicker, Cupcake Cutie has a sweet Little Red Riding Hood pattern for cross stitch or needlepoint. I love those toadstools!

Kawaii fairytale wizard of oz fabric

If you prefer sewing, Repro Depot Fabrics have a great range of retro fairytale fabrics including classics like Hansel & Gretel and story books like The Wizard of Oz.

What’s your favourite fairy tale?
