If you’ve got a special occasion coming up, need a new baking project to fill some time, or just enjoy looking at cute cakes, here’s some Youtube channels and blogs with cute animal recipes.
Have you heard that Kim-Joy has a new Youtube channel? If you enjoyed her cute animal bakes on the Bake Off, you need to subscribe. These pig choux buns (or pigfiteroles!) look pretty easy and there’s also frog scones (plus loads more written recipes in her column at The Guardian).
RoxStarBakes has lots of fun and colourful baking ideas and the koala cupcakes are too cute. You could easily adapt this method for other animals too and make a whole zoo.
There are so many cute animal bakes on Kawaii Sweet World’s channel that it was difficult to choose just one. This panda cake would be adorable for a birthday and isn’t too complicated. You could even decorate a store-bought cake to make it super cute.
For something a bit different, how about Sumikko Gurashi meringue cookies by Bembum Kitchen? You don’t even need any flour, if that’s in short supply at the moment. I can’t get over how cute they look sitting in a cup of hot chocolate! There’s a full write up on their blog, plus a video.
These meowmallows by Bakerella are so sweet and simple, and even include printable tags for gifting. A lot of her recipes are perfect for sharing if you’re able to do a doorstep drop off to local friends and family.
Have you been doing any baking? We’ve got more cute ideas in the Kawaii Food & Recipes section, plus look out for some DIY cake topper ideas later this week.
