Pusheen has left the ARTBOX Cafe in Brighton but there’s a cute new character taking over with the UK’s first Gudetama cafe!
We spend a lot of time thinking about future cafe themes (Rilakkuma Pancake Cafe please!) and did guess Gudetama might be next since it’s a perfect fit for Easter. Gudetama’s Lazy Lounge is open now and the whole building has had a super cute refresh to add some new colours and all the Sanrio friends.
The food looks adorable with a mix of sweet and savoury dishes, plus drinks and ice cream. How kawaii is this Hot Doggo? All the food is vegetarian, with many vegan options too. You’ll also be able to pick up a takeaway ice cream downstairs.
Gudetama’s pals have joined the fun too as there will be a Sanrio boutique downstairs full of special Sanrio Originals from Japan and exclusive collaboration items. ARTBOX’s online shop has always been an incredible place to find amazing Sanrio products so it will definitely be worth a visit if you’re a fan.
Gudetama’s Lazy Lounge is open 7 days a week in Brighton, UK (though there is no sit down menu on Wednesdays) and should be sticking around until the summer. I’m confident it will be a lot better than our slightly-disappointing visit to the Gudetama Cafe in Japan.
