We love Pusheen and character cafes at Super Cute Kawaii so I wasn’t going to miss the opening day of the first Pusheen cafe in the UK at the new ARTBOX Cafe in Brighton.
The shop exterior is just stunning, painted in gorgeous pastel colours with Pusheens everywhere. The cafe is upstairs though there is a table downstairs for disabled visitors. The cafe is beautifully decorated with giant Pusheen murals on the walls and the same mint and baby pink colour scheme as the exterior.
The menu had a range of sundaes and waffles to choose from including many with vegan options. I decided to get the Pastel UFO Sundae and the Mallow Dream Waffle as they both looked so cute and colourful.
The staff were pretty busy dealing with all the orders but I was happy to wait and have a good look around the cafe. I shared a table with lovely Pusheen fan Laura who was there for an early birthday treat with her mum and chatting with her helped pass the time.
When the food came it was definitely worth the wait! Everything looked amazing and tasted so good. The waffle was divine with lots of white chocolate sauce and pretty sprinkles topped with candy floss and the sorbets were very refreshing.
I had to try them both but was a bit too much food just for me so best to choose one item or share a few different things with friends. I’m hoping to go back soon to try more! I also had the watermelon drink which was delicious and came with a free coaster.
I then had a quick look around the shop but it was so packed it was difficult to see everything. The shop is pretty small but had lots of exclusive items from The Pusheen Shop in the USA.
I bought a few things including an adorable shirt and the exclusive Pusheen Brighton enamel pin.
There is also an ice cream bar with lots of options and cute Pusheen themed cups and cones for people who want a kawaii treat but don’t want to sit down in the cafe.
I had such a wonderful experience at the ARTBOX Cafe and have to give a big shout out to the staff who managed to keep smiling even though they were rushed off their feet. They all looked so cute in their outfits and were very friendly and helpful.
They definitely had a few teething problems which is to be expected on opening day but it didn’t detract from my experience at all. I’m looking forward to going back soon when it’s a bit quieter to have a proper look round the shop and maybe try one of those amazing ice creams!
The ARTBOX Cafe is permanent with a rotating character theme and the Pusheen Snack Parlour will be around until autumn. It’s open 7 days a week with takeout ice creams and shopping from 11am-7pm and a sit down menu from 12pm-5pm. For more information visit the ARTBOX Cafe on Facebook or Instagram.
