For the longest time I always had my nails painted or adorned with polish strips, and I guess at some point I got too tired and busy to keep up with doing my nails (the joys of being an adult, am I right?). It was going to take something special to get me back to it. That’s when I stumbled upon one of the coolest collaborations I think I’ve seen. Featuring classic cartoon characters and beloved icons, nostalgia and fun brought me back to the world of nail polish, and I hope these are collabs you’ll enjoy too!
Let’s start with the one that reignited my love for pretty nails and got me painting my own again. Powerpuff Girls fans will fall in love, like I have, with Mooncat’s (US) collab. Starring six shades and nail art stickers inspired by Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, and even the villains, this collection is so vibrant and fun. Even the black polish, Chemical X (my fave) has multi-colored, color-shifting iridescent flakes plus three types of holographic glitter, wow! Talk about nails that pack a punch.
The set and Chemical X are sold out, but just select the notify me option and they’ll let you know when they’re back in stock, I was able to snag mine this way.
If you’re someone that remembers the iconic Lisa Frank school supplies Orly (US) has a collab with 4 topper polishes of spots, stars, dots, and hearts, as well as 8 nail wrap sets with some favorite characters, like Markie the unicorn, Hunter the leopard, and Spotty & Dotty the dalmatians.
OPI (US) did a 50th anniversary Hello Kitty collection with press ons and 6 new nail colors in polish and gel (looks like you have to be a salon to get the gel ones). There’s a range of soft pastels and bold pops of color to add a touch of kawaii to your nails.
Nailtopia’s (US) Disney collection brings the magic of Disney characters to your nails, with a whopping 26 shades. From villains to cherished characters, you can channel your favorite films right on your fingertips.
For some humor and fun, Sally Beauty’s (US) Despicable Me 4 nail polish collab is worth checking out. Inspired by the minions, this collection’s combination of shades are as playful and quirky as the characters themselves.
Last but not least, YesStyle (HK) has a Sanrio nail polish collection of 6 characters with complementary sparkly shades and a 3-D figure even adorning the cap of the bottle.
Which collab are you most excited about?
