It’s that time of year again where we tell our friends and partners how much we love them and, for me, the best way to do that is with food. My love language is definitely snacks, so I’ve rounded up the cutest cookies and macarons to share with your favourite people… or celebrate self love and keep them all to yourself!
I love these Valentine’s macarons from The Tipsy Macaron because they’re emulating conversation hearts sweets and what could be more classic for Valentine’s Day than those? You could create your own messages to stencil on or copy some from the sweets themselves, plus the colour combinations are endless.
Who says Valentine’s biscuits NEED to be heart shaped? These cookie bars from Cookielicious NZ are fantastic for sharing with friends and can be decorated in five different designs. Although if you’d prefer to keep it simple, just pick your favourite one.
The way to my heart is also through Star Wars so these Boba Fett cookies (holding a little string of love hearts) from Jenn Fujikawa are just perfect. The ultimate V-Day gift for that friend who lives in a galaxy far, far away…
Is there someone out there who makes your heart beat just that little bit faster? Bake them these heart-shaped macarons from Sugar Bean to show them just how they make you feel. The video comes with on-screen instructions in both English and Korean.
A heart shaped biscuit is a classic and I love these elegant, watercolour style ones from Good Housekeeping.
However, if you’re vegan or prefer something a little more chocolatey, then these chocolate strawberry cookies from Sweet Vegan Sara look delicious, especially with the dried strawberry sprinkled on top. After all, chocolate and strawberry is a match made in heaven.
This is more of an ‘icing watch along’ than a tutorial, but the design inspiration is beautiful. If you’re already familiar with icing techniques and fancy a project, then these floral envelopes from Little Sister Cookie are gorgeous.
If you want to go all out for Valentine’s Day, but are more of a biscuit fan than a cake fan, then why not try this cookie cake from Pies and Tacos instead. 3 layers of heart shaped biscuits filled with pink buttercream and topped with macarons, chocolates and sprinkles. You could buy the toppings or make some of them yourself depending on how much of a project you want.
