Sanrio Character Ranking Results & Picks

The votes have been counted for the 2021 Sanrio Character Ranking and the winners announced – the same as last year! I’ve had a look around for some cute products featuring the favourites.

Despite a mid-vote fightback from Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll takes the top spot once again. ARTBOX (UK) have lots of cute new Sanrio Originals items for Summer including this cup pouch that can fit a little plush friend.

Pompompurin fans can comfort themselves over another close miss with an adorable banana plush from Very Goods (JP) who also have some special anniversary plush.

And Pochacco hung on to his 3rd place too. Sanrio USA have a few more items in stock now including this colourful retro style t-shirt.

That’s the overall top 3 but you can also view the regional winners from around the world. In the US, 2020 winner Hello Kitty crashed out of the top 3 and was replaced by Cinnamoroll, Aggretsuko and Gudetama. If you like card games, Aggretsuko Work/Rage Balance is coming out soon and looks like fun. You can pre-order from a few sites like Renegade (US) or Dice & Decks (UK).

In the UK, Pompompurin made the top spot (yay!) with Aggretsuko 2nd and 2020 winner Kuromi in 3rd. Kawaii Panda (EU) have lots of cute Kuromi accessories, stationery and beauty items like this cosmetic pouch.

And a shout out to Yoshikitty, who was top in all the European countries and Brazil. Yoshikitty is based on the frontman of Japanese metal rock band X JAPAN and you have to feel sorry for Hello Kitty to be beaten by a niche version of herself! If you’d like some Yoshikitty merch, Ebay is your best option with some rare plushies and a few smaller items.
