The Lunar New Year comes early this year, and 2020 is the year of the rat. Personally I find them cute and simply misunderstood, so I thought I would round up some cute projects to help celebrate the holiday!
Kamikey Origami has a great assortment of Lunar New Year paper craft projects for various animals, including this cute and simple New Year rat envelope DIY. As they show, this is great for gifting money in or even just for cute notes.
For even more paper crafts, check out the How to Play channel’s super adorable video on how to make a Chinese zodiac rat/mouse. If you wanted to make a traditional card for New Year’s, this would be cute attached to the front.
If you like watercolor painting or would like to learn how to, MayaXKiwi on Etsy has a preorder open for a cute Year of the Rat watercolor calendar kit! It comes with everything you need to color it with watercolors, including a water brush and palette.
And for the crochet crafters out there, Fionadolls on Etsy has a kawaii and inexpensive amigurumi rat doll digital pattern available for download!
Doodles by Sarah also has a video on how to draw a Year of the Rat doodle that would be cute for a bullet journal title page for the new year, or in any kind of planning spread.
