We’re already seeing a lot of searches for Christmas crafts and it really is never to early to get started, especially if you’re making gifts. To start things off, here’s some more amigurumi crochet patterns including some free ones.
This licensed Rilakkuma amigurumi kit is making me wish I could crochet as Rilakkuma and friends look so kawaii in their Santa hats. It’s available from Felissimo’s new craft offshoot Couturier Special (Japan), which also has a Rilakkuma cross stitch kit. I can’t figure out if they ship overseas (the main Felissimo site does) or if you’d need to use a forwarding service. You could also figure out your own version using the free Rilakkuma patterns at Ami Amore.
Forget Elf on the Shelf, this Christmas tree is much more kawaii! The free pattern by Marta Ruso has an option to include wire in the arms and legs to make it fully poseable so it could get up to some mischief if you like.
Or why not ignore tradition completely and make a Christmas Cactus? This would be a fun decoration for those of you in warmer countries. Get it from Super Cute Design who have lots more Christmas amigurumi patterns available too.
Flying Mio have a a video showing how to make a little snowman ornament wearing a kawaii frog hat. I expect it would be pretty easy to adapt the hat into a bear or other animal too.
If you’re looking for a bigger project, this sweet Holiday Deer has a lot of different parts and techniques including a Christmas sweater! You could customise this in so many fun ways. Spin A Yarn Crochet have plenty other free crochet patterns too including fandom designs.
We’ll have more holiday DIYs soon and you can also browse our Christmas crafts section for more ideas.
