Cross stitching is how I unwind after a killer day of holiday shopping. I started making gifts on November 1. Whether you are looking to make gifts or some holiday decorations for yourself here are some cross stitch patterns and supplies that I like below.

Don’t sweat holiday stress and try to find humor in the problems that come up with this dino pattern by Nerdy Little Stitcher.

Have a kitty holiday with this festive reindeer cat pattern by Magic Mau’s Menagerie.

I know how money can be tight this time of year and that is why I love Kandi Patterns to find cute stuff to stitch up. As I have mentioned in the past, these bead designs work perfectly for cross stitch – you just get a smaller product, making them great for 4-inch hoops – that can double as ornaments.

Here are a few festive ones to try out – Christmas Bear | Christmas Wreath | Jack Skellington

I have been stitching snowflakes (with a free pattern from Crafts Unleashed) using DMC’s Etoile embroidery thread (USA / UK) that I have really been enjoying.

I also picked up some flat charms from Happy Kawaii Supplies (USA) and turned them into needle minders using rare earth magnets (from a hardware store) and strong glue. There are plenty of tutorials out there, like this one by Nuts about Needlepoint. It’s a quick gift for friends who stitch as it only takes a few minutes.
