My Cute Birthday Gifts

It was my birthday recently and of course I got lots of cute things from family – and from myself! Here’s my favourites.

I spotted this Jinbe San tissue box on Twitter and knew I had to have it. What can possibly be better than Jinbe San eating up all your tissues? It was already low on stock before my birthday so I bought it myself and I’m so glad I did. It makes me laugh every day and even comes with a box insert so you can easily refill it from any store size. There’s still a few left if you want one.

If you’re worried about using Tenso to order from the San-X Japan store, SCK’s Nicolette (and my sister) managed to set her own account up no problem with that guide so she could order me some gifts from the Rilakkuma bunny collection.

I’m so happy with the adorable sticky memo book, drawstring bag and zip folders. I didn’t check the sizing on the folders and was surprised that the small one is just credit card sized! It’s so cute though and I will find a use for it.

Rilakkuma got a gift too – a new outfit featuring…himself! This is very narcissistic but if I looked as cute as Rilakkuma, I would probably wear a hat and hoodie of myself too. The jeans are from a different outfit and probably the best piece of clothing he owns – they really go with everything. I may also have just ordered the new bunny outfits for both Rilakkuma & Nicolette’s Kogumachan so look out for pics around Easter!

I’ve been holding off buying any of the latest Pusheen surprise plush until my birthday was over. I ended up ordering a couple from GUND UK (the cheapest option – other countries, check this post for where to buy). I don’t usually have very good luck with blind boxes but I actually got my favourite, the triceratops!

My birthday is well timed as I love bunnies and they’re everywhere for Easter. I wandered into a Cath Kidston store in Glasgow and discovered they have a super cute Bunny Meadow collection just now. The pattern is so sweet and I wanted everything but just got a foldaway shopper bag. But then I looked online and they have so much more including a bunny dress that I couldn’t pass up. If you fancy anything, search online for discount codes as I managed to get 20% off.

And finally, I treated myself to a higher tier reward on Kaila’s Rainbowholic Patreon since it was Sakura theme. It’ll be a while until the sakura blooms in Scotland (we have a whole street of cherry blossom trees in my town!) but I can enjoy all this cute stationery in the meantime.

There’s 2 exclusive sticker sheets designed by Kaila plus Japanese sticker sheets, origami paper, card cutouts and an adorable Pompompurin postcard (my choice), which is decorated on the back. And of course you can reuse the stickers and washi tape from the outer plastic sleeve. I thought it was good value for money – I can’t afford it every month but it’s nice to upgrade for some happy mail if it’s a theme I love.

And even with all that cuteness, my book editor topped it all off by sending me an early advance copy of my book. That’s going to be a hard gift for anyone to top in future!
