Now that my local weather has finally gotten the memo that it is indeed fall and not the dead of summer (whew!), my mood for fall crafts is finally in full swing. As usual, this has led me to dig deep into the depths of YouTube to find some cute new things to make, and whether you like to make food or arts and crafts, there’s plenty of both in my most recent DIY finds!
Fall is a great time to bake, so why not start with this whimsical deer cake by kawaiisweetworld? It’s super cute and keeps in the perfect woodsy theme for this time of year. There’s something about it that gives off Hummingmint vibes to me. It’s also a chocolate cake recipe—my favorite!
Maybe you’re less of a cake person and more of a pie person, and that’s okay! Kawaiisweetworld has tons of more autumnal recipe options to pick through, including a video on how to make a Rilakkuma pumpkin pie. It’s a great way to make Thanksgiving (or any fall meal) a little more kawaii.
If cakes and pies are not really your thing, you could try your hand at making your own version of the really cute pumpkin macarons by Cake Bash Studio. The instructions in the tutorial are very thorough, so it’s a great introduction to the process if you’re brand new to macaron making!
There is a plethora of craft options that can help you exercise your creativity as well. If you live in the States and want to kawaiify your Thanksgiving holiday meal, or even just think turkeys are really cute (you’d be right!), Sunny Lin’s DIY turkey treat bags are a good place to start!
All Things Nim is also a fountain of ideas with her fall room decor DIYs video that features five cute projects to help make any room in your house more cozy for the season. They’re all adorable, especially the little faces on the tealight pumpkins, but my absolute favorite part is probably the pillow! Much like bears, I spend as much time as possible hibernating during the colder months, so I appreciate things that will make my bedding cuter and cozier.
