Whether you’ve just started following Super Cute Kawaii this year, or have been around for ages, I thought it would be fun to look back at some of our favourite and most popular posts from 2017. First of all, I asked all the SCK writers which post was their favourite to write and then I checked the stats to see what was popular with you lot.
Nicolette – The Powerpuff Girls Emporium in London
My fave post of this year was about my visit to the Powerpuff Girls Emporium. There was so much to see and lots of fun activities but I was most excited about having my photo taken with Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup themselves! Dream come true.
Andi – Korilakkuma Happy Natural Time Felt Brooch Tutorial
I think it’s one of my favorite pieces, and I was quite excited to be able to share a tutorial for it on SCK. I’d like to make similar DIYs in the future.
MissMuffcake – YML Group Strawberry Cat Bed Review
My cats still use this bed every day. If you have cats you know this is not always the case!
Natasja – Cute Pass Cases
The post about cute pass cases was the most fun to write. I was happy to see all the great shapes that a pass case could come in and ended up ordering one myself. It comes in so handy!
Marceline – New Re-Ment Miniatures
As editor, I have to write all the less exciting posts – news, giveaways etc. – so I love it when I get to indulge in some research for a shopping post. I’m obsessed with Re-Ment miniatures and I still want all of these.
Most Popular Post From 2017: Tamagotchi Mix Sanrio Characters
Leaving aside giveaways, the post written this year that got the most views was by Natajsa. Tamagotchi’s collaboration with Sanrio was a brilliant idea and everything about it is so kawaii, especially the mix and match characters. Did you manage to get hold of one?
Also in the top three were Magical Unicorns by me and Cute Felt Patterns from Gingermelon, also by Natasja.
Most Viewed Post in 2017: 5 Tokyo Shops Every Kawaii Fan Should Visit
Our posts have a pretty long shelf life so older posts are just as popular as new ones. This mini shopping guide I wrote last year after my Japan trip is still pulling in a lot of new visitors, and the follow-up post, 5 Places to Buy KitKats, Pocky & Candy in Japan, was the second most visited. I guess I should write more about Japan over here (there’s tons of stuff on my own blog)
Most Popular Review: Pusheen Box Review
We reviewed a lot of cute stuff this year, especially subscription boxes. With all the Pusheen love around here, it’s no surprise that my review of the Winter 2016 Pusheen Box was of most interest. I’ve been wearing those gloves a lot this winter! Pusheen also crushed all the competition for most popular giveaway – our Hey Chickadee giveaway got 59,201 entries and 1,250 comments!
