Give yourself a little treat or surprise a friend with one of these kawaii blind boxes filled with mini vinyl figures to collect and display.
The latest tokidoki x Hello Kitty and Friends collab might be the cutest yet! Not only are the individual figures super cute, with a Sanrio character riding a pastel Unicorno, but if you get the whole set they join up into a Sweet Pink Carousel. Sadly they’re region-restricted to the US but you can check resellers and Ebay elsewhere.
Momiji have been quiet for a while so it’s great to see them back with lots of new blind boxes. As a space nerd, I want all of the Out of This World dolls but the Magical Meadow dolls are so sweet too. Each doll has Momiji’s signature hidden fortune, plus a collectors card and embroidered sticker. There are also keychain plush blind boxes of both sets of sidekick friends too!
Smoko (US) regularly release new blind boxes with both their own original characters and collabs like Kewpie. The Smoko Friends World is my favourite with cute little scenes inside perfectly palm-sized terrarium jars. But it’s also hard to resist the glow in the dark Kawawa Turtles.
100% Soft (US) have a new set of Bodega Kitties to collect with more cute cats hiding amongst the corner store snacks and groceries. You can also stack up your cats from both series to build a little shop display.
Sylvanian Families (UK) / Calico Critters (US) have been rapidly expanding their range of blind bags, which are much more affordable for trinket collecting. Each animal has a costume and there’s a lot of fun themes available including fruit, ocean and space but Woodland Fairy is my favourite. I need that rock with the tiny rock friend!
For something a little bit different, Hippers are small figures that are designed to hang on to the edge of your computer screen or mug. They even have removable adhesive tape if you want to attach one to your phone. This new mofusand Shrimp Meow series is extremely cute but My Plastic Heart (US) have other characters too, including Chiikawa, Sonny Angel and Monchhichi.
