In recent years clean beauty has gotten more popular and we’re all becoming a lot more mindful about what we’re putting on our skin and how it impacts the planet. But it can be kind of confusing to figure out which products fit the bill. Sephora has made it a little easier with their Clean + Planet Aware brands, which can be found worldwide (view locations) as well as through each brand’s own website. These brands are all about being free from certain ingredients and use packaging that’s either recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable. They’ve also met criteria for ingredient sourcing, packaging, and transparency. Today I’m going to chat about skincare.

Glow Recipe
Glow Recipe is all about fruit and fun and their products are inspired by Korean skincare traditions. They mix antioxidant-packed fruits like berries, guava, avocado, papaya, and pomegranate with gentle but powerful ingredients. Plus, everything is vegan and cruelty-free.
I’ve been using their products for a while, even before I realized they were a clean brand. Their Watermelon line is my favorite, but the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream (which is refillable) is a close second, and next on my list to try is their Cloudberry Bright Moisture Cream (also refillable) and their new Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dewy Flush, which is a tinted cheek serum that comes in two shades.

Caudalie
Caudalie is a French skincare brand that’s been around since 1993, and their whole thing is grapevine and wine extracts. They’re big on using eco-friendly ingredients and packaging and they work with some cool eco-projects around the world.
I first found Caudalie when I was searching for a cleansing oil. I’ve tried other brands, but I keep coming back to Caudalie’s. Their Moisturizing Toner with Rose Water is also a favorite of mine. I really like the fact that it’s safe to use on your eyes, which not a lot of toners are. It makes for extra help with removing eye makeup.

Skinfix
Skinfix cares about clean, clinical, and sensitive skin friendly ingredients. They focus on creating products that are gentle yet effective, especially if you’ve got concerns like eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis. They also have packaging that’s eco-friendly and refillable. I haven’t tried Skinfix yet (their prices are a bit high for me) but let us know if there are any products of theirs that you particularly love!

Necessaire
Necessaire is more of a bath & body brand as compared to the others, with body washes, lotions, oils, and serums. Their vibe is about minimalist luxury, and they’ve got some major eco-cred (B Corp certified, 1% for the planet, climate neutral, etc.). I haven’t tried anything from Necessaire yet, but I’m super curious about their scents, which include eucalyptus, hinoki and rosemary as well as fragrance-free.
I’ve really enjoyed learning about the products I’m using and making more informed choices. Have you tried any of these brands or have others to recommend? We’d love to hear from you!
