Another round up of new cute and fun craft books to pick up or add to your wish list – some are are out now and others are available to pre-order. I’ve included Amazon links below but you can also order through other sites, like Bookshop (UK/US) which supports independent bookshops near you.
I’m excited that two of my favourite kawaii artists have books coming out soon. First up is Draw Kawaii Style (UK/US) by Ilaria Ranauro aka Ilariapops. This looks extremely cute and the book includes 62 lessons including basics, characters, special effects and step by step tutorials. Out July 25/27
Or go for Kawaii Drawing (UK/US) by Becky Castaneda aka beckycas. I love watching her videos and this will show you how to draw more than 200 super cute things in her signature style. Out October 17/19
Crochet Impkins (UK/US) by Megan Lapp of Crafty Intentions is more than just a pattern book as it boasts over a million possible combinations of ears, antennae, hats, wings, tails, scales, horns, hairstyles, clothing and accessories so you can create a whole community of quirky and whimsical creatures. Out August 29/October 31
If you prefer knitting, Knit a Mini Ocean (UK/US) by Sachiyo Ishii has patterns for 20 tiny adorable sea creatures including a shark, puffer fish and crab. This is a follow-up to Knit a Mini Safari (UK/US) from earlier this year if land animals are more your thing. Out September 30/October 24
Macrame has been having a bit of a moment recently and it’s great to see some kawaii patterns. Adorable Macrame (UK/US) by Stacy Summer Malimban has 20 colourful projects to make including coasters, earrings, plant hangers, ornaments and more. Out October 24/November 6
My Pokemon Baking Book (UK/US) by comic book writer and chef Jarrett Melendez has 50+ baking recipes inspired by the game. This looks amazing and worth buying just for your shelf but there are recipes for all skill levels so you should be able to make good use of it too. Out September 19
Star Wars fans will want to add The Ultimate Cookbook (UK/US) to their wish lists as it has more than 80 recipes inspired by the movies, TV shows, novels and comics. There’s recipes for both beginners and experts with a mix of appetisers, main courses, desserts, and drinks. Out October 10
If you’re already excited for Halloween there are 2 new books for fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Official Knitting Guide (UK/US) has 25 patterns to make, while The Official Baking Cookbook (UK/US) has 55 recipes to try. That’s sure to keep you very busy! Out September
