Another round up of new cute and fun craft books to pick up or add to your wish list – some are are out now and others are available to pre-order. Good news for crafty Pokemon fans as there’s a few new books coming out this year. A second volume of Pokémon Crochet (UK/US) is out now with POKEMON: How to Draw (UK) to follow in June and Pokémon Cross Stitch (UK/US) in July. I’m very excited about those cross stitch patterns!
Kim-Joy is always raising the bar for kawaii baking and her latest book is Bake Me a Cat (UK/US) which promises 50 Purrfect Recipes for Edible Kitty Cakes, Cookies and More! There’s a lot of photos of the inside pages on Amazon and it all looks adorable. Out 16th March (UK), May (US)
Sticking with cats, Amigurumi Cats (UK/US) ticks a lot of boxes for SCK readers! It’s a translation of a Japanese book and will show you how to make 24 crochet cats that you can customise to match your own pets. We should have a review of this nearer publication. Out in May.
|If you’re more of a dog person, Olive Yong aka @bichi.mao has followed up her cat-themed drawing book with Kawaii Doggies (UK/US). It’s just as cute and has over 100 Adorable Pups in All their Glory for you to learn how to draw. Out 4th/6th April.
A few SCK favourites have new books coming out, starting with Mariska Vos-Bolman of DIY Fluffies. Amigurumi Made Easy (UK/US) has 16 brand-new crochet patterns for cute animals that are ideal for beginners. Out in May.
We love the felt and cross stitch patters of Trellis & Thyme and now Sosae and Dennis have a new book of Cute Kawaii Cross Stitch (UK/US). There’s over 400 kawaii motifs included that you can stitch individually or arrange into larger designs. Out in June.
Delilah Iris designs the sweetest felt toys and now you can make some Tiny Felt Cuties & Creatures (UK/US). There’s patterns for tiny animals, dolls, dollhouses, props and more so you can create some lovely gifts. Out 14th/16th March.
Jesi Rodgers aka @jesiiii has a very colourful and kawaii art style and you can learn it too with Adorable Art Class (UK/US). It has 75 step-by-step tutorials for plants, food, and animals and the top tip is ‘Add a face!’ so you know it’s going to be good. Out now.
