How to use Instagram Camera Filters
If you haven’t used filters before, they are accessed through the Instagram camera by browsing for kawaii effects or checking your favourite character accounts to see if they have a filters tab on their profile page (look for the sparkles – only shows on mobile app).

Here are a few you can try for yourself, though filters do get removed or replaced regularly so some of these may no longer be available.
- @sanrio – Celebrate Chococat and Pompompurin’s birthdays or find out which Sanrio character you are.
- @hellokittyeu – A super cute birthday filter where you can dress up as Hello Kitty.
- @aggretsuko – Let the RAGE out with this scary cute filter!
- @gudetama – Find out which Gudetama you are or hang out with the lazy egg on your head.
@molang.official – This account regularly adds cute new filters with seasonal and holiday themes featuring Molang and Piu Piu.
@tokidokibrand – The Kawaii All Stars and tokidoki love filters and you can add Unicornos and other tokidoki characters to your selfie. I loved the Donatella headband filter but that’s unfortunately no longer available.
Other Cute Camera Apps
I love the AR mode in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp which allows you to take pics of your favourite Animal Crossing characters interacting with real world locations. You can also change their outfits and pose which is really fun!
The LINE camera app has filters you can apply to your selfie, as well as cute frames and stickers which can be added to your photos later.
