Tom and Jerry Buys & DIYs

Posted on

Being that we’re all fans of Miffy and Moomin, it’s always fun seeing kawaii-fied versions of classic characters, whether it’s through the ever-so-popular blind boxes or even creating them yourself. Like Marceline mentioned in her recent Peanuts & Snoopy post, being adopted by Japanese fans makes everything cuter – and that includes the iconic cat-and-mouse duo of Tom and Jerry. Check out these fun shopping picks and DIY ideas to celebrate these two, whether you’re Team Tom or Team Jerry.

Tom and Jerry Pop Mart figures

My husband and I have recently started building our collection of Pop Mart figures, and the Tom and Jerry: Funfair Series is definitely on our list. This adorable amusement park-inspired series includes both Tom and Jerry in each box with various antics. You can grab a box or the whole set via the Pop Mart website (US/UK) or through physical stores.

Tom and Jerry blind box plush

For even more gacha thrills, Hot Topic (US) has Tom and Jerry Gokko blind box mini plushies if you’d like them in softer (and smol-er) versions. I’m more Team Nibbles (Tuffy), so seeing his super chibi-fied version here makes this one right up my alley. You can also stream the Tom and Jerry Gokko anime for free on WB Kids’ YouTube channel.

Tom and Jerry mini backpack

Carry all your essentials in this Tom and Jerry mini backpack from Loungefly, care of Truffle Shuffle (UK). I love the various textures used in the bag as it really makes all the details pop, from Tom’s plush fur to Jerry’s 3D-looking cheese wedge.

Tom and Jerry folding cushion

And for a classic gag in sittable form, Meccha Japan (JP) has a stair-shaped Tom folding cushion that’s perfect for your T&J marathons.

If you’re looking for something to munch on while binge-watching, why not make a sweet treat? Nino’s Home has a recipe for a no-bake cheesecake that looks like it came straight out of the cartoon. It’s an ASMR video, but you can turn on the captions to laugh at Nino’s biting, sarcastic remarks.

miniature fried buffalo chicken thighs

For mini kitchen or Jerry-sized food enthusiasts, whip up some miniature fried buffalo chicken thighs based on the delicious drumsticks from the show. Tina Mini Cooking has a quick three-minute recipe for this right at the start of the video.

On to the craftier side of things, Clay Attraction shows you how to make a Tom and Jerry diorama from air dry clay and other supplies. The setup looks amazingly detailed and features Tom’s menacing claws from afar as Jerry drools over a yummy stack of pancakes.

Tom and Jerry crochet pattern

Or you can crochet your own huggable Tom and Jerry amigurumi care of Ni Crochet, complete with movable arms and wide smiles.

Tom and Jerry gachapon charms

Lastly, don’t forget to check out your local Japan hobby shops and Gashapon Bandai Official stores! We recently scored these super cute ones of Jerry from the Liquifying Mascot series and Nibbles from the Personal Marker Charm series. There are various gashapon series to look out for if you’d like to have even more T&J collectibles.
