Upcoming Kawaii Events in the UK

It’s been a minute since I’ve collected some cute events for you all, so here are some more to look forward to!

Kawaii Art and Culture Exhibition at Wolverhampton Arts Centre is a ‘colourful celebration of cute culture’, curated by Tamla Pearce. It features 17 artists across mediums including textiles, sculpture, illustration and more, and will include workshops and themed photo ops. It’s set to run from the 31st of July until the 9th of August. I will be checking it out as much as I can via social media, I hope some of you can visit it for real!

Petit Sekai - kawaii and J-Fashion store in London

A new kawaii and J-Fashion store recently opened on Brick Lane in London. Petit Sekai offers handmade and vintage clothing, accessories, and more. I need to plan a trip soon! They are also currently accepting consignment applications.

London seems to have a new niche photo booth going viral every week, and Aini Booth is one of the newest additions. Aini is an imported Purikura booth, so once you’ve taken your photos you get five minutes to decorate them to your maximalist heart’s content. You can find it at Boxpark in Shoreditch.

Design and Disability exhibition

One thing I love about the Victoria and Albert museums is that when their exhibitions tour up North, they are usually made free as to be more accessible. I loved the Design and Disability exhibition when it was shown in London last year, and now you can find it at the Dundee V&A until the 4th of October. I personally very much recommend it.

Animal Crossing at Sea Life

Animal Crossing is back at Sea Life! You can find it in Brighton until the 16th of August, or in Blackpool from the 1st of September until the 11th of October. Apparently the Animal Crossing aspects have been increased, so you can find more themed labels and collect more stamps, and of course still meet Isabelle and Tom Nook.

Indie alternative fashion mag Chiffon Magazine

Indie alternative fashion mag Chiffon Magazine is holding a launch party for their new issue on the 28th of August. Check their Instagram for more details. If you can’t make the event, you can preorder the new issue, titled ‘Recipes for Self Expression’ here.

Miffy afternoon tea London

Cutter and Squidge is offering Miffy themed afternoon tea until the 31st of August. If you can’t make it to the London store, their Miffy collection is available for delivery nationwide.

gluten free and vegan cafe in London

As far as I know, this themed afternoon tea cannot be adjusted for any dietary requirements. However, just a short walk away you can find the very cute Cream Dream, which is completely gluten free and vegan, and regularly offers afternoon tea.

Another recent opening is Rhizomatic, a FLINTA craft cafe in Hackney. The space is super cute, and they offer an interesting variety of workshops and socials. I recently visited for a chainmaille workshop and I hope to go again soon.

Are there any events you’re particularly looking forward to?
