Cute Chicks Easter Dessert Recipes

Are you planning a gathering over the Easter weekend or fancy something to do during your time off work? It’s that time of year when all the birds are building their nests and adorable little baby chicks are hatching, so I’ve gathered together a few of the cutest chick (and nest) themed recipes for you to have a go at. Be aware – this post contains a LOT of mini eggs!!

I can always trust The Little Blog of Vegan to come up with a great themed dessert and there are a couple of chick ones that I just had to share. Whip up some chicks with buttercream or cream (dairy-free in these recipes) to top either the lemon cake or lemon cheesecakes, both featuring  lashings of lemon curd.

I love the way coconut is used to represent the texture of a nest on top of this chocolate coconut Easter cake from How Sweet Eats. You either have the option of dotting the mini eggs over the top for one egg on each slice, or to put a few on each slice once served for individual nests.

These little macaron chicks are super cute, but as always from Sugar Bean, the decorating is a challenge. The fact that the chicks are given easter eggs to hold is a nice little touch for the holiday too.

Easter macarons recipes

If you’re more of an egg person, then there’s always the option to make your macarons into nests instead with this inventive design from Pies and Tacos. This might take a little less piping knowhow than the chicks, but I think they’re equally as impressive once finished. You could also try this on shop-bought macarons, or even biscuits.

The use of icing to create the chick shape is so fun as a decoration for these Easter chick cupcakes from The Simple Sweet Life. I like how they all have a different shaped head depending on the piping and their little orange feet poking out at the bottom too.

Easter cheesecake recipes

These individual cheesecakes from Jane’s Patisserie with nests adorning the tops are fantastic, but I also think if you adapted it, you could make one big cheesecake with a slightly bigger nest in the middle as a lunch/dinner centrepiece. You could even fill the nest with all different kinds and sizes of eggs (light ones of course, so as not to crush the cheesecake!)

Have you ever seen a cuter steamed bun? While these aren’t strictly a dessert, I couldn’t NOT share them, and they could definitely be adapted to be filled with a sweet filling of your choice. Think sweet red bean or chocolate.
