I’m heading back to Japan again in a couple of months and I’ve been thinking about all of the useful items I might need. This collection is full of travel accessories that are either perfectly themed towards Japan or are actually from Japan, so they’re absolutely perfect for an upcoming Japan trip or to buy while you’re there!

These zipped pouches look just like the boxes of Meiji chocolates you can pick up in the convenience stores in Japan. They’re available through Tofu Cute (UK), but they’re actually gachapon prizes from Japan, so you don’t know which version you’re going to get. Which would you want?

I really need to get a protective case for my hair straighteners and this Minnie Mouse one from Disney Store Japan (JP – requires forwarding service) is the cutest. The fabric on the inside is heat resistant, so you can pack them away last minute too.

When I’ve visited Tokyo Disney before, I’ve noticed how much the parks and the guests love The Aristocats, especially Marie. I love the Aristocats collab from Skinnydip (UK) and they are perfect for getting things organised ready for the plane.

These cute Moomin card holders with coin purse are ideal for holding your train card AND all your ¥100 coins ready for the gachapon machines! These are also great for if you’re travelling to countries with mainly card payment options, as they can hold up to 4 cards each. (UK)

If you feel like there’s just not enough space for all of your coins in those card holders, then this Kiki’s Delivery Service purse from the Japanese Ghibli store Donguri Kyowakoku (JP – requires forwarding service) should do the trick. If you’re not heading to Japan, then Maison Ghibli (EU) carries a lot of the same merchandise for the European market (albeit with a bit of a mark up).

Miffy is one of the characters you see everywhere in Japan and if you’re in the market for a new suitcase (for all of the shopping you’ll do while you’re there), then Loft (JP – requires forwarding service) has one with her face printed on the side, alongside a useful tote bag too. If you can’t get hold of these, but still want Miffy travel accessories, then Skinnydip (UK) carries a Miffy tote bag and washbag, which is the ideal place to pack all of your holiday toiletries.

Will you be heading to Japan for sakura season this year? If not, then you can still admire the cherry blossom flowers on this beautiful water bottle from Aqua Flask (NZ). I’d like to think it would keep me hydrated while I’m racking up thousands of steps a day on holiday.

Mini travel bottles are a must have for all of your toiletries and I think these bamboo ones from Søstrene Grene (UK/EU) are lovely. They give me bamboo forest vibes and I like that there are a few different types available, including bottles and jars.

Keep and Kind (UK/EU) focus on sustainable and recycled products and this range by LOQI uses Hokusai’s wave as their design theme. There’s a recycled shopping bag, a weekender bag and a selection of zip pouches that see other Hokusai designs used too.

Do you ever worry about your jewellery when travelling? This small, travel-friendly jewellery box (only 3 inches in diameter) from The Japanese Shop (UK) is made from traditional chirimen silk fabric and is so beautiful.
Would you pick up any of these items for your next trip? Are you heading to Japan this year?
