While there are so many awesome online kawaii stores, sometimes it’s nice to see items in person, and to support high street stores. These are some of my favourite kawaii shops in Leeds, UK.
Giant Kitten
Giant Kitten is possibly the most spectacular kawaii store I’ve been to! It recently got an expansion, so now there’s even more space full of cute plush, clothes, plants and more! I especially love the Doku style corset top, and their wall of Jellycats. You should also definitely check out their collaboration tees with the Leeds Arts University students, which you can get both in store and online.
Half Sugar
Half Sugar is the cutest bubble tea shop ever! It’s full of pastel colours and kawaii figurines, and even a human size rabbit? I really want to try one of their lunchbox cakes. My sibling, a self proclaimed boba sommelier, tells me their peach tea is the best.
Miniso
Miniso is a Chinese lifestyle store that is opening shops around the world. It has had a Sanrio range for a little while now, and it’s finally arrived in Leeds. I particularly like these Cinnamoroll stress balls.
Forbidden Planet
Forbidden Planet is an awesome comic book shop, but they also have lots of cute merch. They have so many adorable blind boxes, as well as Japanese-imported Ghibli items. For manga fans, they also have almost an entire floor of manga!
For one more cute thing to visit in Leeds, the John Lewis has this amazing butterfly wings photo spot.
