As kawaii culture continues to evolve, it is no longer limited to what is normally defined as cute. Kawaii can be cute and colorful, dark and spooky or all-out creepy. So today, I am happy to share with you some black & white stationery items that you can use for Halloween and even well after it has passed.
Most of Krittiya’s art shows a lot of colorful fun and whimsy, but her black out sticker sheet (TH) inspired by potions and witchcraft looks just as cute, and is perfect to welcome the spooky season.
This witches sticker pack by Natsumika (JP) looks lovely on penpal letters, Halloween spreads, or simply any time you’re feeling a little witchy and magical.
Suri’s divine witches sticker sheet and light & darkness postcards (US) look ethereal and show just how beautiful the use of black and white can really be.
Stickii Club (US) have a black and white Christmas sticker sheet that manages to perfectly evoke the holiday vibe even without the usual reds and greens.
Are you a movie buff or K-drama fan? This film washi tape by Gimmic Your Signature (TH) would nicely complement your reviews on the latest series and movies you’ve watched.
For minimalists who want just a touch of design, Ease Around’s washi tapes (TH) and overall aesthetic just might fit your taste.
I normally use a bunch of colorful pens, stickers, and washi tapes for my journal spreads, so I decided to do a small experiment for this post to see if I could make a spread that is mostly black and white & still look cute. Here is the outcome using some of the items featured in this post. What do you think?
I hope this post has helped you see how black and white stationery can be just as kawaii as other colors!
