Spring may officially be around the corner but it’s snowing here so I’m still trying to keep cosy. If you’re in the same boat, or getting ready for Autumn on the other side of the globe, here’s some suggestions for buying or making a kawaii scarf.

I was recently reminded of the adorable scarves at Sugar Bunny Shop (USA) and they’re just as cute as I remembered. This Lavender Fawn design is my favourite but there’s also a fox and sheep.

I might actually look forward to going out in chilly weather if I had a crocodile to wrap around my neck. Sara Carr (UK) has lots of equally fun choices including a snake, giraffe and donkey!

How much do you want to snuggle up inside this Cinnamoroll plush fur scarf from ARTBOX (UK)? If you prefer My Melody or Hello Kitty, they’re available too.

Need a lighter scarf that will take you through Spring too? Infinity scarves are perfect for this as they can be worn in a few different ways and pack up small. There’s a very cute Pusheenicorn design at The Pusheen Shop (USA) that will go with everything.

Infinity scarves are very quick and easy to make yourself too. I made this space scarf using a tutorial at Spoonflower. All you need is 2 yards of light fabric – I used a poly crepe de chine, which you can buy printed with any of the kawaii patterns from Spoonflower designers. Then it’s just a couple of seams to sew up. They print and ship from both the USA and Germany.

Or get busy with the crochet hook and make one of the super cute scarf crochet patterns from Hello Happy. As well as this cat cowl, there’s a sloth, octopus, llama and more.
