- I mentioned in my Stitch Mail review that I also stitched some of the mini motifs. I turned those into ornaments for my family with some painted mini hoops from a Flying Tiger kit (I do not recommend this kit! Even fully tightened, the middle popped out easily so I had to glue them together and it looks a bit messy)
- Emma is having an amazing time in Japan and has already met Santa Pikachu, spent new year at Universal Studios Japan, eaten lots of cute food and even got some snow. She’s there until the end of January so follow @thelittleedition on Instagram for more updates, including a visit to the Kirby Cafe.
- New year in Japan means lucky bags and Tokyo Weekender has a handy Shopping Guide to Fukubukuro with a look at some of the top brands & characters. SoraNews24 and Japanese Stuff Channel are both sharing some unboxings so check back for more this month, plus you can search on Youtube for any specific ones you want to see.
- Hello Kitty & Friends just can’t stop with the collabs! This time they’ve teamed up with the Japan Sumo Association for a merch collection and Pompompurin looks like he could win a few matches for sure. Cinnamoroll, not so much. If you missed the Sonic the Hedgehog collab plush, Oshoppu (UK only) have them all in stock.
- Tamagotchi are celebrating their 30th anniversary with lots of fun stuff including a new permanent shop in Harajuku and a pop-up cafe at Capcom Cafe in Tokyo & Osaka with some hilarious food. I especially like the DIY pancakes that look straight out of the corner shop games.
- Have you picked up Animal Crossing New Horizons ahead of the new update on the 15th? It’s very weird to be back but so nice to see my island and villagers again. We have lots of posts with custom designs for all seasons and holidays that work for both New Horizons and Pocket Camp.
- Animal Crossing World is a great unofficial site to catch up on all the update info and refresh your memory with guides and tips. They also shared that the New Leaf hourly soundtrack is now available on Nintendo Music for some extra nostalgia.
- My Melody is Friend of the Month at Sanrio – download your free printable calendar and look out for some special content on their YouTube and socials. I’ll have a roundup of more printable calendars on Monday.
