My Melody & Kuromi are back in the news this month, thanks to their adorable Netflix series. If you’re a fan of the fluffy animation style and new characters, here’s where to buy official merch and some cool collabs too.

Sanrio Japan have restocked the official Netflix collection and the plushies are so cute and fluffy! I especially love the keychain size that match moments from the series – My Melody sleeping, Kuromi freaking out and My Sweet Piano playing the ukelele. You’ll also find lots of fun accessories, like pouches, keyrings and badges, plus tech accessories and stationery. You’ll need to use a forwarding service to order outside Japan but the plush and some other items are available through Meccha Japan and VeryGoods, who both ship worldwide.

Meccha Japan also have these cute dollhouse playsets, based on their bedrooms. They’re nowhere near as detailed as the show but you’ll recognise the beds, sofas and other decor.

If you’re a fan of the new characters and sidekicks, YesStyle (HK) have you covered with a surprising range of items. Most feature My Melody with Piano & Flat or Kuromi with Tanba & Sasage so you can show off which side you support with keychains, pouches, stationery and bento boxes. There’s plenty with My Melody & Kuromi together as well if you’re a fan of both. Where is the Mr Pistachio merch though…

Hot Topic (US) have some exclusive official apparel that’s not tagged well so you’ll have to scroll a bit to see it all. The standout is the oversized hoodie with a ruffled patch on the back but I also love the My Melody baking t-shirt. There doesn’t seem to be a matching Kuromi one online but you might find it in stores. There’s also pyjamas – including plus sizes – and many more non-show items featuring the BFFs/rivals.

I’m finishing off with a few collabs that aren’t linked to the series but are too cute not to mention. JapanLA (US) have just released denim jackets to celebrate My Melody’s 50th anniversary and Kuromi’s 20th anniversary. They’re covered in embroidered patches on the front, back and arms. They have more exclusives too including Spirit Jerseys, crop tops, belts and hats.

Accessorise those with the cake-themed My Melody & Kuromi bag collection at Loungefly (US). The cake-shaped bag is amazing but I also love the wallet. As well as bags, there’s a windbreaker jacket and blind box pins. Some items are also available from Funko Europe (UK).

Of course, Sanrio (US) is full of cute things featuring My Melody, Kuromi or both! If you collect Funko Pops there’s new anniversary designs with lots of cute details. The show also made me fall in love with My Sweet Piano so expect another post focused on her sometime soon.
My Melody & Kuromi is available worldwide on Netflix now – if you’ve watched it, what did you think? I really recommend it – the animation style is super cute and everything looks so soft and huggable. It has a real plot as well with My Melody and Kuromi both running sweets shops/bakeries and it all gets very weird before the rivals have to try and work together to save Mariland. My only complaint is that it might have worked better as a movie as there’s one continuous story and the individual episodes don’t really stand out. I hope they make more though.
