Blind boxes are always a great way to treat yourself or a friend as you get the extra thrill of not knowing which of the designs you’ll find inside. Here’s some with kawaii mini figures I’ve spotted recently that are too cute to resist. Some shops will let you buy a full set or even your chosen figure so shop around for more stockists.
My Plastic Heart (US) is always the first site I check as they have a huge range of both artist and character blind boxes including full sets. I spent way too long giggling over the Qualia gachapon figures which have some hilarious foodie designs and there are even more at that link. I’m especially obsessed with the melting ice lolly and sad purin.
You might recognise Luli Bunny’s art style from Momiji dolls and her DunDun character collaboration with Triciclo Editores (EU) now has 5 different blind box sets and matching plushies. My favourite is Pyjama Party as all the animals are adorable and you can even mix and match their outfits!
tokidoki (US) always have amazing blind box vinyl figures including regular collabs with Sanrio. This new Kuromi & My Melody Garden Party set has matching designs of the rivals and they really are all equally cute so well worth a gamble.
Powerpuff Girls fans won’t want to miss this super cool collab with CRYBABY at POPMART (global). There’s 12 figures to collect (plus a rare extra one) and as well as 3 different designs of the girls, I’m very happy to see Professor X, Mojo Jojo and even the Mayor with his phone!
Molang is a perfect character for blind box vinyl figures as they love dressing up and having adventures. The Animal Edition at the Molang shop (EU) sees the chubby bunny in 6 different animal costumes – including best friend Piu Piu! The little matching bags are an extra cute touch.
100% Soft (US) are best known for their Dumpster Fire toys but they also make more affordable mini figure mystery boxes. These new Bodega Kitties are so kawaii with cute cats acting as tiny corner store guardians and hiding amongst the snacks. You can even stack them up to build your own display.
Smoko (US) are always coming up with fun new vinyl figure designs featuring their original characters like Tayto Potato as well as collabs with Miffy, Care Bears and Kewpie. You’ll find everything from fruits and fast food to sharks and cats, plus holiday and seasonal themes. There’s also some mini plush keychains.
