Fruit is the perfect theme for summer crafts and if you’ve got some holiday time coming up, here’s some cute DIYs and patterns for your next project.
I always love how colourful perler beads look and these fruity drink covers by HGTV Handmade are useful too. Not only do they protect your drink from bugs, they help you remember which drink is yours and double as coasters too.
Or QDCrafts have 10 perler bead fruit designs that you can turn into keychains or magnets. You could also use these as mini cross stitch patterns.
Speaking of cross stitch, I have to mention the collaboration between both the SCK founders, myself and Claire (yes, we’re still friends). Choose from Peapod, Cherries and Avocados, or get them all in a bundle, from my Asking For Trouble Etsy shop.
BeCoProductions has two lovely embroidery patterns that show the life cycle from blossom to fruit. The cherry is my favourite – because sakura! – but I also love all the different bananas.
Fruit loving crochet fans are spoiled for choice as Knot Monsters has a huge bundle of 30 different patterns at a bargain price. Not only do you get some more obscure fruits (and even mixed nuts), but it includes patterns for a pincushion, basket and tote bag. You can buy the patterns individually too.
These kawaii felt fruits look so happy and would make fun bag charms, brooches or a garland. Get the sewing patterns from StudioDeita, along with a matching veggie set.
For an easy quick project, how about these DIY pineapple candles at Happiness is Homemade? It’s a really simple idea but looks so cute. The same blog also has tutorials for pineapple soaps and pineapple sugar scrub so you could make a whole gift set.
Make some cute storage for your room with this DIY Pineapple Pencil Box at Creative Hours. It has stacking trays inside with plenty of room for all your stuff.
