Puffy stickers are on trend in Japan at the moment so I thought I’d see what cute designs are available at some of our favourite kawaii shops worldwide. Puffy stickers aren’t the easiest to use, as they can be too bulky for journaling or get scraped off in the post, but they’re great for decorating photo cards, gifts and the outside of notebooks.

I spent way too much time browsing the Mindwave store (JP – requires forwarding service) so be warned! They use the term marshmallow stickers (マシュマロ) and I especially love the new Dolly Friends dollhouse sheets. They start out normal enough with a house and school, but there’s also a treehouse and a moon base! The friends are all cute animals and the fun part is that each backing sheet is printed with a set of rooms so you can cut them out to make little scenes. These should be available at international resellers soon too.

These Funny Sticker World sheets at Mochi Things (US) have a similar setup with a range of lunch food or desserts to arrange on dishes! There’s loads more puffy sticker sheets to choose from as well, including animals, emojis and cat paws.

Pipsticks (US) have a huge selection of puffy stickers with original kawaii designs and character collabs with Care Bears and Hello Kitty & Friends. They have such a nostalgic feel with both sticker sheets and large single stickers – and some of them are even glittery! You also get puffy stickers in their sticker clubs if you like surprises – here’s Allison’s Pipsticks Sticker Club Review for a look inside.

Sanrio (US) also stock some of the Pipsticks collab but otherwise are surprisingly low on fun stickers. They do have this adorable set of sweets-themed Hanamaruobake sticker flakes with 24 pieces to share or hoard.

San-X recently released a collection called More! Squishy Stickers featuring 3 designs each for Rilakkuma & Sumikko Gurashi, plus Sugarcocomuu, Ishiyowa-chan and Lie Detective Tomanto. They all sold out instantly but luckily Kawaii Republic (JP) have them all in stock (you’ll need to scroll a bit, or filter by character). Cuteness (EU) also have older San-X designs and may be adding these soon too.

I was happily surprised to find puffy stickers at the Pokemon Center (UK/US) and they are very cute with Among the Foongus, Starlight Fairy and Botanical themes. There’s also a fun kit for DIY colour-in puffy stickers that uses foam and a special press. Looks like you could potentially use that for your own designs too.

Alphabet stickers are a must-have for decorating photo cards and make it easy to cute up gifts and letters if you’re not very artistic. These puffy alphabet sticker packs at Fallindesign (KR) come in black & pink or purple & green and both include six sheets with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, symbols and more cute icons.

I love a foodimal and it’s tough to choose between these kawaii puffy stickers at I Spy Kawaii Supplies (UK). Every time I decide, I see something else adorable.

Or Lemoncat Shop (UK) has these sweet animals puffy stickers with dogs, sheep, lions and bears.
