Labubu DIYs & Craft Patterns

It’s always a little strange when kawaii goes mainstream but it’s great to see POP MART becoming a household name with Labubu. Despite being around since 2015, Labubu and The Monsters are currently one of 2025’s biggest viral trends, thanks to K-Pop stars and other celebrities. If you’re obsessed with the ugly-cute dolls but can’t get hold of one, or afford to join in, these DIYs and crafts will give you some alternative options, and are mostly free!

Before we get on to DIY versions, Maqaroon has a great video with Everything you need to know about Labubus! that will help you out with where to buy originals and spot fakes, plus lots of easy and cute hacks and DIYs to customise your dolls.

Kalyani’s corner shows you how to make a fully DIY Labubu Doll from Face Towels and air dry clay. This seems a lot easier than it looks, if you’ve got some basic skills with modeling and sewing.

MyFroggyStuff is even more inventive, Making Labubu With DollarTree Craft Supplies. It includes a printable to make the face and other features using hot glue.

Crocheters are in luck as there are tons of patterns out there. Red Ted Art has a great roundup of free Labubu crochet patterns that goes into a bit of detail about how easy they’d be to follow. One of the most realistic is by Xuxu Crochet, which is in Thai but with subtitles.

The Crochet Channel also has a really cute tutorial in English that looks even easier.

If you want to make some clothes and accessories, My Crafty Basket has a roundup of 12 Free Crochet Labubu Accessories Patterns that includes these adorable bear overalls by My handmade.

I also spotted this simple Labubu Beanie Crochet Pattern at All About Ami, which includes a written pattern as well as a video.

Free cross stitch patterns are thin on the ground but Stitchynova has a super cute and affordable pattern on Etsy. I’d always recommend choosing a pattern like this with photos of the finished piece so you know it’s been tested.

If you only have some paper, you can still make something as おもちゃ箱 has a few different Labubu origami tutorials that are all super-kawaii. As well as the basic monsters, you can make pencil caps, notebooks and Halloween costumes.

Draw So Cute is always up on the latest trends and has a whole playlist of POP MART & Labubu drawing tutorials including all of the Monsters.
