Did you know we have a free weekly newsletter? You also get a monthly roundup of cute links and videos we’ve saved including character cafes, collabs, crafts and Japan. We’re also sharing the links section here on the blog, though subscribers will still get them first, plus lots of videos too.

- My Melody & Kuromi dropped on Netflix this week – have you watched it? Sanrio Japan have released a new collection in the same style, including plush, stationery, accessories and even dollhouse versions of their homes! You’ll need to use a forwarding service to order outside Japan – or some items are available through Meccha Japan.
- If you’re visiting Japan before mid-September, you can check out the 60th Anniversary Sanrio Exhibition in Ibaraki (in Greater Tokyo) and find out more about the brand’s history.
- Or head to Kyoto Century Hotel for Hello Kitty’s Exciting Sweets Party, a dessert buffet with a cool 70s retro theme, available to book until November.
- Just tuck me up in the Dream Rilakkuma Bed and I’ll see you in a few months! San-X have expanded their made-to-order furniture range and it’s a mere ¥242,000 (£1200/$1600) to “feel relaxed even in your dreams”. Yikes.
- The Knot Churros × Miffy looks like a very sweet collab! If you’re in London or Gateshead get over there asap as the 6 flavours of churros with ice cream, dip & toppings are only available until mid-August. There’s also a Miffy-themed brunch experience at OXBO Bankside London on the 17th.
- SoraNews24 visits Little Lou’s Cafe, where your plush friend is the VIP guest and it’s completely adorable. They get their own tiny menu, mini versions of the desserts you order and lots of opportunities to dress up, take photos and meet other plushies.
- I enjoyed Tokyo Weekender’s list of Iconic Japanese Ice Creams, Ranked. It’s not only helpful if you’re visiting Japan in the summer, but anime fans will recognise a lot of these too.
- asaha has another free illustrated browser game to go along with their latest exhibition Doko Doko Land. It includes a super kawaii collab with Tamagotchi that you can order online through Tokyo Pixel.
- Tuxedo Sam is Friend of the Month at Sanrio – download your free printable calendar and look out for some special content on their YouTube and socials.
- It’s a new month in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete and if you’re stuck for inspiration for the current themes, have a look at our posts with custom designs for Summer, including fruit and fireworks.
- New to our blog or took a break? The Best of Super Cute Kawaii is updated every month and collects our top posts including the most popular, our own favourites and original guides & DIYs.
- As promised, I made it over to a big Tesco to have a look at the new Paperchase collections in person – there’s a few videos & photos on our Instagram.
PokePark Kanto is a new Pokemon theme park opening in Tokyo next year and it sounds amazing. You can read more about it on Tokyo Weekender & SoraNews24.
