- For an extra special time in Japan, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo hotel has added new Pokémon Beach Resort Stay rooms for the summer. One special room has giant Snorlax & Lapras plush to keep you company (or steal your bed!) while cheaper standard rooms still get the special Pokemon meals and exclusive gifts.
- If you’re a Sumikko Gurashi fan visiting Japan soon, you might want to add a day trip to Sendai before the end of May as they have a special collab with Sendai Aquarium. It all looks so fun with photo ops, stamp rally, exclusive merch and themed snacks.
- Cutest treat of the month goes to Kyoto Suzunariya and their adorable Mogmog Catcher bags of little animal-shaped cakes you can grab with a UFO Catcher style claw pick. They sound really delicious too and are served warm at their shops. SoraNews24 has all the branch details.
- I’d also love to visit the Tamagotchi Puchi Puchi Omisetchi pop-up cafe! The food looks hilarious and really makes me want to replay the Nintendo games. It’s open now until June 19th at the Capcom Cafes in Tokyo & Osaka.
- Cakes with Faces has a new guide for Vegetarian-Friendly Restaurants in Kyoto. There’s also a Tokyo guide and one for pop-up cafes (including tons for anime themes).

- Chococat gets some cute new free wallpapers at Sanrio, including a May calendar.
- If you’re in France or Canada make sure to tune into WOOLLY WOOLLY, a new stop motion animated series inspired by Mochimochi Land’s knitted creations. Hopefully it gets a wider release soon.
- It’s a new month in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete and if you’re stuck for inspiration for the current themes, have a look at our posts with custom designs for Spring, rainy season and more.
- There’s also new Animal Crossing LEGO sets coming out in August including a museum set with Blathers, Goldie’s cosy house and some seasonal extras that work with all of the sets released so far.
- Tofu Cute’s blog has a nice post about My Neighbour Totoro including a look at shop staff Prema’s own collection.
- A reminder that SCK’s Emma is in Japan for the next few weeks including the Nintendo Museum. You can follow her on Instagram @thelittleedition and she’ll be working on lots of Japan posts for the rest of the year.
