This weekend is a great time to crack open your supply stash and finish your Halloween crafting. If you’re short on time or supplies, these simple Halloween origami tutorials are quick to make, plus you only need some paper.
Tatsukuri’s Origami has a video showing you how to make kawaii origami ghost friends. Make a bunch and attach them to string to make festive hanging decorations!
The same channel also offers lots of other origami projects to make for Halloween, and conveniently has English subtitles available for most videos. For something a little spookier, their origami skulls could be cute and spooky hanging decorations if you attached them to string as well and use glow in the dark stickers for the eyes.
Plan on having a party? Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without some black cats about, so it’d be cute to make some black cat nameplates for your guests. Or use them them label your food with some creative spooky names!
Of course, witches need to be included, too. This origami witch would be cute paired with the black cat nameplate! (While this video doesn’t include English subtitles, the videos are filmed well enough to make it easy to follow for anyone with basic origami knowledge.)
Kamikey Origami also has some tutorials for the holiday, but the pumpkin and ghost origami pocket is definitely my favorite of the bunch! It’s a very clever idea to attach it to a loop of string or something similar so it can hang or be used as pockets for party favor candy.
