It’s that time of year again, where everything feels like it is (or actually is) melting. So what can you do when it’s too hot to go outside? You can make some cute summer crafts! Here are a few of my favorite and recent finds to try out.
If you’re looking to beat the heat by staying in the nice cool indoors with a book, pair your activity with Red Ted Art’s cute and super easy pineapple bookmark DIY so that it still feels like summer! (I’m assuming it’s quite clear that I am an unabashed bookworm by the sheer amount of bookmark tutorials I collect…)
Whether or not you can make it to the beach this season, you can bring the ocean to you with this polymer clay and resin clam shell terrarium by PolymomoTea. You could make these in all sorts of colors to give as gifts, too!
You can also avoid melting from the temperatures by staying indoors to bake! Rachel has an ultra-adorable tutorial on how to make mermaid donuts over on her KawaiiSweetWorld channel. Mermaids and donuts! She has it right when she says it is summer on a plate!
Another cute polymer clay/resin option is Creative Rachy’s super cute ocean cat figurine tutorial that’s definitely worth checking out. It’s based on the Sophie & Toffee Elves box, so you can conveniently find the materials on their website. SCK readers can get 10% off everything using our affiliate link.
Maybe you’re more for the mountains than the beach this time of year? If so, Heekkong’s latest video is on how to make an amazing DIY squirrel house using relatively few supplies that are easy to find.
If you’re looking for more ways to avoid the weather and still celebrate the season, you can find even more summer crafts in our DIY Crafts section.
