It’s officially the middle of summer, at least where I live, so that means frequent beach trips for most. Fortunately, even if you’re like me and haven’t had the chance (or you live in the southern hemisphere where it’s cold!), you can still enjoy the summer spirit with these fun sea life crafts!
The polymer clay heart sea turtle charm tutorial by CoolRiceBunnies is an adorable take on the basic sea turtle design. Sea turtles are my favorite sea animal so I think I’ll make several of these to turn into a charm bracelet.
Flying Mio’s octopus plush video shows you how to make two different versions, both of which are, in fact, quite fancy. She covers everything you need for the project, including how to make the pattern pieces, so it is easy to understand.
If you agree with me and believe jellyfish are underrated, you might enjoy One Dog Woof’s crochet jellyfish project. It would be cute as a plush, but I also really like it as an interesting hanging decoration!
Even though mermaids aren’t technically real, I still felt compelled to add this cute and inexpensive mermaid cross stitch pattern by SuirenDesign. Mermaids and summer are synonymous, anyway.
If you feel like some needle felting, FuzzytailFelting’s sea otter pattern might be right up your alley. I’m currently in the middle of a growing sea otter obsession, so once I finish my shameful amount of half-finished needle felt projects, this one’s going straight in my Etsy cart.
