If you’re a pin collector and a fan of games like Animal Crossing, you’ll love this new collective crowdfunding campaign from 3 kawaii artists.
I was a little confused to see SCK faves inki-Drop and milkbun promoting similar enamel pin campaigns on the same day but I eventually realised they are both part of the Cozy Town Critters pin collective at Backerkit, along with Wanderling World. It’s a nice way for the artists to find new fans and if you support all 3 campaigns you get a free sticker sheet.
All the sets are inspired by cute animal mascots, children’s book illustrations and cozy video games, but they each focus on a different part of town and have their own unique illustration style. Petit Paws from inki-Drop (EU/US) introduces 3 new characters – Priss the Dango Seller, Tristan the Tea Sommelier and Mochi the Postpup. They all have traditional kiosk-style pins, plus you can help unlock another 2 designs of each character doing their jobs.
Pin Pals Go to Work by milkbun (MX) features ducks, capybaras and mice running a bakery, apothecary and veggie farm. The base set has the busy animals heading to work and there are more designs to unlock including some mini pins.
I wasn’t previously aware of Wanderling World (US) but their retro fast food Treat Street theme is super cute with a burger joint, ice cream truck and diner, all run by cute animals. BunBun the carhop gets the first few pins – including a menu set of food designs, and stretch goals will feature the other characters.
Cozy Town Critters runs until September 23rd so check out the projects and get your pledge in. All 3 have reached their first goals but there’s plenty more to unlock. And if don’t like waiting, have a look at their shops and socials for more cute stuff.
