While it’s way too hot to be hugging furry friends at the moment, it’s hard to resist all the cute seasonal designs. Here’s some of the sweetest summer plush I could find, from both kawaii characters and small artists.
Kidrobot (US) always make such cool plush designs and this new Hello Kitty mermaid is extra-kawaii with iridescent scales, blushy cheeks and satin bow. It’s a special SDCC edition but you can preorder it online to be shipped after the event.
Chill out with a cute can of soda pop that looks like Pusheen! This is part of the Gamer collection at The Pusheen Shop (US) but the pastel colours are great for summer too. What flavour do you think this would be? I’d guess ramune.
You have to be very quick to grab the latest Jellycat plushies and a lot of the funniest summer designs have already sold out online. Check your local stockists though as we were highly amused browsing through them in person while on holiday – the coral, treasure chest and swimming goggles are especially fun. Budgeby Parrot (UK/US) is still in stock online and would be the perfect tropical island friend.
Build-A-Bear (global) also have lots of cute summer designs, whether you create a new friend from scratch or pick up some accessories for plush you already own. I love the pineapple axolotl (which can be pineapple-scented!) but I have to go with Summer Waves Sloth because look at that swirly tie-dye fur! This gift set is ready for a pool party with a bathing suit, sandals, flamingo pool floatie and plush snow cone wristie.
Claire’s (UK) have a few different summer Squishmallows for summer and Perry the dolphin is off to the beach with surfboard and sunglasses. You can find him at other stockists too.
Honeybee Meowchi makes a return at Tasty Peach Studios (US) with a new design that’s super-fluffy and has adorable embroidered details. There’s a few new Meowchi flavours too including lemon, blueberry and mango.
I’ve been inhaling strawberries lately so I’d love Strawmi the Strawberry Cat, an original plush by MikouArt (US). Those gigantic eyes are irresistible and there’s berry-shaped cheeks and even little strawberries attached to the tail.
Noodle The Axolotl can come along on your summer adventures as it has a keychain attachment. I love that his mouth looks big enough for that giant strawberry. Adopt him from Unbroken Bunny (CAN).
