One thing we love to do at Super Cute Kawaii is to let you know what’s worth spending your money on. Our kawaii reviews are always detailed and honest, with lots of photos so you can see for yourself if it’s a quality product or something you’ll regret buying. Here’s some of our highlights from 2021, from subscription boxes full of surprises to struggles with craft kits.
Pusheen Box
I always look forward to opening a new Pusheen Box each quarter and this year’s have all been really fun, especially the Boosheen theme for Fall. Despite some delays due to the pandemic, the boxes have been fairly high quality with some really great clothing items that I wear all the time. The Winter 2021 box should be shipping any day and we’ll have a review in January. Winter 2020 / Spring 2021 / Summer 2021 / Fall 2021
YumeTwins
We also got a chance to try out the YumeTwins kawaii subscription box and see how it’s changed over the last few years. The Summertime Kawaii theme was very cute and, while you only get a few items, they’re high quality, licensed character goods from Japan. The laundry bag and tote have been very useful and we were practically fighting over the cooling cloth during our summer heatwave holiday!
I’ve always loved the look of Loungefly bags and accessories but they’re so expensive that I couldn’t imagine thy were really worth the investment. Thanks to UK stockist Very Neko, I was able to try out a range of Loungefly x Sanrio bags & wallets and discovered they live up to the hype! Not only are they super kawaii but they’re full of fun details and features, and made from hard-wearing materials. Still an investment, but one worth saving up for.
Phomemo Label Printers
I love a review where I get to be a bit creative, and had so much fun playing with these portable label printers from Phomemo. I was soon coming up with cute project ideas including labelling everything in my home and making stickers with my own designs. I’m looking forward to using these a lot more in 2022.
SCK Tries…Craft Kits & Patterns
And let’s not forget one of my favourite features we’ve introduced – SCK Tries, where the team try out a tutorial or kit to see if it works as advertised. We bought a few kits and patterns this year and mostly managed to complete them successfully, but there’s usually some disasters and frustrations along the way. Just looking at that Pusheen plush is making my blood pressure rise. Noodoll DIY Plush Kit / Pusheen Stuff ‘N’ Sew Plush Kit / Daiso Snowman Paper-Band Craft Kit / Kawaii Felt Dinosaur Plush
Hope you enjoyed our reviews this year – if there’s anything you’d like us to try out next year, we’d love to hear about it.
