Veganuary is here – it’s the start of a new year and many people pledge to go vegan during this time. I’m here as a vegan veteran (20+ years!) with a few tips for veggie newbies to try as they start their journey.
Buy a vegan book or two
I recommend stuff that is easy and something you are drawn too so you will stick to your journey. VegNews released a new book (USA / UK) for newbie vegans that will help you achieve your vegan goals in 30 days. The pastel donut cover is adorable and the info packed inside is valuable! From recipes to shopping guides this book has so much info and the layout makes it easy to navigate.
Replace animal ingredients with vegan alternatives
Cow milk can be swapped easily for yummy non-dairy milks. This enamel pin by iheartavocado (USA) pays tribute to one of my faves, cashew milk.
Be inspired to create cute food
Follow vegan foodies who know how to cook it up kawaii style – vegandollhouse, vegantwice and kittygirlbakes are all on Instagram
Remember veganism is more than just vegetables!
However, I am a mass consumer of broccoli. Try to mix up your fruits and veggies daily to discover new tasty combos! Plush by Squishable (USA).
Get yourself some vegan merch
This Vegan For The Animals tee by Kawaii Baby Clique (UK) comes in 3 colors and up to a 2X size. It is cute and spreads a positive message.
Are you trying Veganuary? Anything new seems hard and scary at first but as time goes by things get easier. You got this!
