I’d been looking for a new mobile game so when I heard that my favourite kawaii characters had their own puzzle game, Sumikko Gurashi Puzzling Ways, I had to download it. It’s both totally adorable and incredibly addictive so I’ve been playing it a lot while struck down with the cold.
There’s nothing hugely innovative about Sumikko Gurashi Puzzling Ways – it’s a puzzle game where you match up characters to clear levels. However, matching up Sumikko Gurashi characters is way cuter than the usual candy or gems. Look how round they are!
As you progress, you unlock extra skills and friends for your Sumikkos so they can help you clear the more difficult puzzles. There are lots of super cute animations too that make even a huge failure a little easier to take.
There are lots of limited time offers and puzzle sections to keep things interesting but the Halloween games seem to have already disappeared before I had a chance to play through it – no fair! My only other grumble is that it’s making me dislike a few characters – including my beloved Dustball, who makes some of the puzzles extra annoying.
